American Sign Language Classes

We are excited to be able to offer American Sign Language classes for our community.


We will issue certificates of completion based upon three (3) or fewer absences.


Participants must be 16 years of age or older to attend.

Refund Policy

Refunds must be requested in writing within five (5) days of the last class attended.

  • After one (1) class—80% refund
  • After two (2) classes—50% refund
  • No refunds after three (3) classes

Course Descriptions

Level 1A

For students who have no previous experience in sign language or fingerspelling. Students will learn the manual alphabet and to combine words to form simple sentences.

Level 1B

This course will focus on expanding basic vocabulary and basic conversation skills. 

Level 2A

This course will focus on expanding basic vocabulary and basic conversation skills. 

Level 2B

This course is designed for students who possess a strong basic sign language vocabulary and fluency in expressive and receptive communication. 

Level 3

This course will emphasize receptive and expressive discourse with ASL users, focus on non-manual signals, complex grammatical construction, and idiomatic expressions.

Parent/Guardian Class

This course is for deaf and hard of hearing students' parents and immediate family members. This class will focus more on vocabulary and conversational skills necessary to communicate with your child or family member. All handouts will be translated into Spanish for our Spanish-speaking families.  Unfortunately, we will not have a live translator this term.

Fall 2024

Registration for Spring 2024 ASL classes has closed.  Stay tuned for registration information for our Fall 2024 classes!

Our ASL classes will meet Tuesday evenings at our Longmeadow campus.

Spring 2024 Term

Spring term classes will meet on Tuesday evenings from 6:30 to 8:00.  We will meet for 14 weeks from February 6, 2024 to May 21, 2024.


Note: There are no classes on Tuesday, February 20, 2024 and Tuesday, April 16, 2024.

Registration is $150 per term.  We have several registration methods available, detailed below.  We accept most major credit cards and checks.


1) Click on the white Register button above.


2) At the school building from 6:00 to 6:30 on the evening of the first class, February 20, 2024.  This is the only time we will accept checks.

Spring 2024 Term (Parents/Guardians only)

Spring term for Parents/Guardians class will meet on Wednesday evenings, and they will be virtual.


This program is free for parents and guardians of deaf and hard of hearing students.
