Join Alison Leschinski, ScD, and Kalie Buchman, AuD, for our virtual Ask an Audiologist coffee chat on Saturday, March 9, from 9 – 10 a.m. Parents and caregivers of deaf and hard of hearing children are welcome. The Boston Children’s Hospital Family Education and Advocacy Team (FEAT) is hosting our annual middle school transition workshop in March. There will be two virtual workshops (March 13 and 20) and one in-person workshop and parent & student panel (March 24). If your child is in 4th-7th grade and ready to move up to middle school, this would be beneficial to learn about the process. E-mail susan.gibbons@childrens.harvard.edu if you would like to attend some or all and Susan will send you the link or save your seat at the in-person workshop.

 

The DHHP outreach program is hosting a family games event at Ayer Library on Saturday, March 23 from 12-2 p.m.  Lunch will be provided and this is a great event for kids as they play fun games and make new friends! 

 

The Beverly School for the Deaf is hosting their next Hand in Hand Program for families on Saturday, March 2. Join Katie McCarthy with the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Program (DHHP) and Adriana Neefus with the Family Sign Language Program (FSLP) as we give a presentation to families about our programs and statewide & local resources that are available to them. The meeting will take place on the Beverly School for the Deaf campus.


The Universal Newborn Hearing Screening Program is hosting a

Rick Postl, the Director of RIT/NTID Admissions, will give an informative presentation for D/HH high school students and their families about opportunities to attend RIT/NTID, including academic, social and personal development experiences. along with breakfast and a tour of the Metropolitan Waterworks Museum in Chestnut Hill, MA.  The presentation and tour will be on Sunday, March 3, from 9:45-12:15. The Discovery Museum is hosting their next Especially for Me event for D/HH/DB children and families on Saturday, March 23 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Children will enjoy a fun, friendly experience in the accessible and universally designed interactive exhibits indoors and the Discovery Woods outdoors.  The museum will be closed to the public.
