Assistant Principal
We are seeking an Assistant Principal to work with the Education Director to coordinate and implement a comprehensive educational program for students who are deaf and hard of hearing at Willie Ross School for the Deaf.
Primary Duties
- Ensure that the staff and students observe all educational, behavioral, and personnel policies and procedures of the school.
- Assist in interviewing and hiring new staff.
- Evaluate and monitor staff.
- Conduct student staffing meetings as needed.
- Participate in the admission process as part of the Intake Team.
- Provide campus tours.
- Attend appropriate workshops and seminars.
- Participate in regular administrative meetings with the Management Team.
- Support faculty with data collection for IEPs and behavior plans.
- Serve as substitute when short-staffed.
Requirements
- Massachusetts Licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf.
- Management and/or supervisory experience.
- Intermediate rating on the SLPI or another comparable sign language proficiency exam within two years of hire.
- Support and the ability to follow a Total Communication approach.
Salary will be based on degree(s) and experience.
